In the past I have been assigned an assignment that I was not that into and could not relate to at all. It was in another one of my English classes, and I had to write a pretty lengthy paper about a political view I had and then go into depth about it. To start off, I would like to describe myself as a decent writer when it comes to thing I actually want to write about, and have interest in. When this assignment was assigned, I had absolute no idea what it was about and everyone in the class did, or at least a little understanding of what it was about. Just with that being said, I had already felt a little on the dumb side and had convinced myself I was going to have the hardest time writing this paper. At the time I wasn't the strongest at "choose a side" papers and didn't really know how to lay it out. I kept telling myself " I'm going to fail this assignment" and I got myself so down that it was almost impossible to feel somewhat okay about this paper. The way I handled the assignment was not a good way to go at all. I didn't have confidence in myself at all and right there that made it even more difficult to proceed easily. The finished product met the "standards" and I got an alright grade (c), which is passing, but it was not good enough for me. When I read my paper out loud, I felt people were laughing at me and to be honest I was too. I sounded like I had no idea what I was talking about and the paper was very choppy. I know now that if I ever get into the same situation or one similar, I will not talk myself down as much and try to be as positive as possible.
