I begin my paper by introducing my topic and what issue I will be focusing on. I give a very brief overview of some background knowledge of my issue and what side I will be focusing on.
The next paragraph, I will be going into more depth about what cells are and what roll they play in the human body so my readers can get a little more knowledge on my subject. Next I will be comparing cells in the body to Stem Cells and what stem cells can do. I give a very brief example of what stem cells can do. With the example I also give detail to why these stem cells are so remarkable.
My third paragraph will be introducing the two different types of stem cells; Embryonic stem cells and non- embryonic stem cells. I will be going into depth on which each type of stem cell can do and their potential. I will give a quote by the U.S department of Health and Human Services on their definition of Embryonic Stem cells, followed by more details of what they are. I will then tell how these cells are obtained and how it works and their potential. Then I will follow all the same detail but with non embryonic stem cells, tell what they are, how they are obtained then their potential. At the last of this paragraph I will compare both different types of cells and focus on why ESC are my main issue rather than NON-ESC.
In my fourth paragraph I will be telling the reasoning's to why they are not being used today even though they are extremely beneficial. I will be giving details on how the ethical controversy plays a huge roll, no funding, how media and the debate stops Embryonic stem cell research to this day. I than will continue talking about the cons and that side of the research.
This paragraph will be focusing on nothing EXCEPT the pros about this issue. Ill start off with a list of around the world diseases that could possibly be treated with ESC research and talk about how that is just the surface. This research could have so much potential. Id like to add my ideas about 3D printing anything with the human body with the use of ESC. I will then talk about what scientist believe where this research could lead to.
In this section I will talk about why the pros will way out the cons and persuade people onto my focus of the issue. I hope to get people attention and make them really think about this situation. Talk about all the possibilities that are being passed up and missed. Tell how many illnesses that we can get rid of and lesson the amount of deaths, wrap it all up with all the potential this research has.
Last will be my conclusion paragraph where I will wrap everything up.

Outline, Rational IN CLASS LAB
Answering questions on your topic.
1)
What is your topic? The benefit of Embryonic
stem cell research.
-The research of stem cells has been
a very heated issue for quite some time now. Starting in the 50's, when
the first bone marrow transplant happened between two identical twins, all the
way up to today and counting. With the advanced research scientists and doctors
currently have, this field of medicine is always moving forward. There are two
different type of stem cells, ESC (embryonic stem cells), that only exist
in the earliest stage of life, and non- embryonic stem cells, that appear
in later fetal development and stick with you throughout life. Both have
huge impacts on today’s medicine, but the research of ESC is where most of
the attention lies, reason being is because the only way to
obtain these cells is from unborn fetuses. With that being said you
can see how this subject is very sensitive. My paper will be focusing on why
the research of these cells are extremely helpful and what they can achieve.
These cells are beyond beneficial and have the potential to set new standards
for modern medicine. The research of ESC can lead to the cure of Diabetes,
heart disease, Alzheimer's, Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease), and
so many more. Scientists haven't even begun to scratch the surface of the
limitless potential of embryonic stem cell research.
2)
What do you think about your topic?
-Why is
my topic important? The Research of ESC has a huge impact on today’s advancement
medical procedures.
Chapters 17 & 18!
Chapter 17!
Revising and editing.
To be honest, I have never been confident in myself when approaching the editing process. After reading this chapter I know have a little bit more confidence to feel comfortable in doing so. I learned what the key terms are to look for and ask myself when about to edit. I know what strategies I should use to revise, also what I should focus on as I am editing my document. Then also what strategies I should use to edit. I need to carefully, mark and search my document of spelling, grammar. Always ask for feedback and have multiple people take a look at it.
Chapter 18!
Presenting my work!
Many students need to present their work to classmates, professors and others. A way to do so is an oral presentation. In doing so I learned to make sure to narrow my scope, consider my purpose and audience, create a simple outline, think about my language. When listening to an oral presentation make sure to take notes. This chapter gave me guidelines to follow when in group work which was very helpful because when I am in a group, I usually never know what to say first to get the conversation started, or what to follow. Always want to engage with the audience. Consider the audiences expectations about my design. This chapter gives me great advice to follow when making a multimedia presentation.
Chapters 15 & 16!
Chapter 15!
Using my sources effectively.
I learned how to go even deeper than just using my sources, I learned what to for and not to look for, what will be effective and not. These are the questions I know ask myself after reading this chapter.
-How can I use sources to accomplish my purposes as a writer?
-How can I integrate sources into my draft? which means "quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, resenting information and using illustration"
-How should I document my sources?
-How can I ensure I've avoided unintentional plagiarism? which I read a whole chapter about this topic so I am knowledgeable about avoiding it and know what to do in multiple circumstances.
Chapter 16!
Designing Documents.
Learned that designing documents could be very helpful not after the writing process but during.
When understanding the design principles these are the topics that I learned to look for and think of when designing.
-Balance, Symmetrical design creates a sense of stability.
-Emphasis, placement and formatting of elements.
-Placement, location of elements on page.
-Repetition, the use of elements.
-consistency, extent to which I format and place text and illustrations throughout my document.
Chapter 3!
Chapter 3!
Developing my research question and proposal.
Learned How can I develop it, with these main topics
-reflect on my issue and role, then focus on one aspect of my issue, choose the focus of the question then refine it. I also learned how to create a research proposal.
The proposal should include these
-my topic, issue, and research question
-review of my literature
-explain how ill collect my information
-create my project timeline
-compile a working annotated bibliography
-elaborate on my core proposal

CHapters 12 & 13!
Chapter 12!
Developing my thesis statement.
How can I prepare to draft my thesis statement?
learned to do a lot of reviewing on your notes and my purpose or role of where I stand. Make sure to reflect with my peers and try to imagine my readers reading it, is it good enough?
How can I develop an effective thesis statement?
Focus on my role, use my position statement to start drafting my thesis. I identify all my important ideas and arguments associated with my position.
Chapter 13!
Developing and organizing my argument.
How can I develop my argument?
choose top reasons that support my main idea, evidence to support my reasons, decide who my readers will be and adapt to appeal to them.
Make sure I have a good way to choose to address my opposing arguments.
How can I organize my argument?
Choose an organization pattern, then rearrange all my work and evidence, then create my outline which will help me write my paper.

Chapter 19 and 20!
Chapter 19!
Understanding Documentation systems. I learned:
What is a documentation system and which one should I use?
How should I document my sources?
MLA (chapter 20), APA, Chicago, CSE.
Chapter 20!
Using MLA format, which is modern language association.
This chapter is the most helpful chapter yet, I keep resulting back to this one for help on how to cite different sources. This chapter gives examples of every source and how to cite it properly using MLA format. This chapter also taught me how to prepare the list of my work cited sources.

chapter 8!
Chapter 8!
Avoiding Plagiarism.
What I learned?
What is Plagiarism?
Research ethics.
Common knowledge.
Fair use? and when should I ask permission to use a source?
How to avoid plagiarism.
-TAKIING NOTES CAREFULLY, MAKE SURE TO ALWASY PUT IN YOUR QUOTATION.
What I should do if I am accused of Plagiarism?
To start, I always knew what plagiarism was and to never do it. I always knew I would get an F no exceptions. After reading this chapter I learned all the real reasons not to, how to avoid it, and what would happen if I got accused of it. I know we are going to be taking a test on plagiarism, so there is a lot more to it than just DONT DO IT, IT IS BAD.

3 ideas how class worked well for me, and 3 how it didnt.
This quarter in English 102....
3 ideas how class worked well for me:
1). How all of the work we did led up to the paper, made it more simple to understand the paper as a whole since we did it step by step.
2). Like how the class work is more independent, I like working by myself.
3). Love how the teacher was always there to answer ANY question and help us on anything.
3 ideas how class didn't work well for me:
1). Didn't like how some of the work was kind of repetitive. The outline helped me get a idea for my paper, but the rational was just extra work that did not help me on my paper at all.
2). We didn't start writing our paper till close till the end of the quarter
